The 2nd Annual 37 Year Bakersfield Improv Reunion and Car Wash*

October 18 & 19, 2019

  • 5:30pm Improv Jam: October 18 & 19

    • This is your chance to get on stage and improvise with improvisors young and old, new and experienced. You are welcome to come and play or watch, whether it is your first time on stage, the first time in long time, or if you improvised yesterday. The show is hosted by Bakersfield improv historian characters played by Michael Lewis and Alex Marino putting each scene in the historical context of Bakersfield’s rich improv history.

7:00pm Definitely Not Major League Improv: October 18 & 19

  • This show features two teams competing for points and your laughs through a series of short improv games. We need your suggestions and participation to make it work. Fun for the whole family, Definitely Not Major League Improv is for improv fans of all ages. Improvisors from our long improv history perform.

9:00pm Winprov!: October 18

  • The world premiere of Winprov! the improv game show where members of the audience compete for cash and prizes.

9:00pm Bakersfield Armando w/ Kevin Charette: October 19

  • In the Bakersfield Armando Kevin Charette will tell true stories, and the improvisors will create scenes inspired by those stories. This show features Bakersfield Improvisors from our long improv history.

10:30pm Hostel Greetings and Cold War

  • Two long form improv shows with two great teams. First up is Hostel Greetings formed in Reno, NV, performing the Slacker, from a single suggestion they will create a play with interconnected characters and locations. Up second long form duo Cold War from New York City perform a 30 minute show based on a single suggestion.

Penguin Riot

Penguin Riot performs a once in a life time improv show. This group of experienced performers, will create an an entire show from a single suggestion that will inspire a series of connected scenes, characters, and fun. On October 26th they are performing after the Foundations 1 students.

Brian’s Beard

Brian's Beard performs long form improv in two halves. A new improv form in each half. No two shows are alike, 100% improvised fun. “Get weird with Brian’s Beard!”

  • Tickets are $5 online and $10 at the door

  • Recommended for ages 17 and up

  • 11/2/19 at 8:00pm

Khaki Pirate

Khaki Pirate performs a once in a life time improv show. This group of experienced performers, will create an an entire show from a single suggestion that will inspire a series of connected scenes, characters, and fun.

  • Tickets $10 in advance and $12 at the door

  • Recommended for ages 17 and up
